Buster Beetle At first glance an ordinary Buzzy Beetle, but watch out--this one's gone postal! In addition to having the defenses of Buzzy Beetles, Buster Beetles rush around grabbing anything that isn't nailed down and hurling it at their enemies. If they can't find anything, they go after their enemies themeslves! Inside Information: Buster Beetles are juggernauts, and potentially some of the most troublesome enemies in the Mushroom Kingdom. Their health may be low, but it can only be depleted by something that requires Questers to present themselves to it as targets for being grabbed and tossed into their friends and potentially for combos. What's worse, it isn't likely to go down fast as it isn't completely incapable of evasion. It presents one of the biggest threats--if not THE biggest threat--of any of the Mushroom Kingdom's regular enemies and is sure to punish the Questers every second that they don't kill it. HP: 50 Attributes: POW 4 END 3 AGI 2 SMP 4 LCK: 0 Abilities: Melee: 3 Ranged: 2 Jump: 2 Dodge: 2 Guard: 4 Move: 3 Abilities: Tough Shell - Buster Beetles are impervious to most attacks. Energy projectiles deflect back at their attackers, using the Buzzy Beetle's Guard + AGI as accuracy. All other forms of attack that don't have the Smash effect deal no damage. Skills: Punch Attack - Melee Power: 4 Damage: 2% Accuracy: 5 Speed: 5 Rate: 3 Grab-and-Toss Buster Beetles can grab and throw objects and opponents with surprising ferocity. Attack - Ranged Smash Power: 4 Damage: 3% Accuracy: 4 Rate: 5 Special: Has the Smash characteristic. The action of grabbing and throwing are all the same action, but the Buster Beetle may also move between doing them. If no objects are available to grab and throw, the Beetle goes after the nearest allies and opponents it can find. The Buster Beetle's throw deals no damage to characters that it throws, and there is no way to evade or resist it. Luckily it doesn't aim for ledges, but if it misses someone who happens to be standing by an edge a quick recovery may be necessary, depending on the GM's ruling. Shell Tuck Defensive - guard A Buster Beetle can tuck into its shell in response to an attack. When it does so it becomes invulnerable, but remains in this state for 8 ticks--even going as far as to skip its turns. It acts exactly like a green shell until that time is expired, then pops back open. Shell Tackle Attack - Melee The Buster Beetle makes a running charge and tucks into its shell. This behaves as if the beetle had thrown a green shell, but uses melee accuracy and has a speed of 4. During the interim between this attack and its next turn the Beetle behaves as if it were a green shell item.
